Not many are aware that I smoke, mostly because I don’t smoke that often – sometimes I go for a couple days without having any. But then Friday afternoon rolls around, or just about any afternoon out here in B.F.C., and it’s time for beer or cocktails and the token smoke. Now some may wonder, well what’s the problem? It’s not like I smoke a pack a day, and never have been even close. Well, three years ago Pete quit smoking and I always feel guilty when I smoke even though it’s not all the time and he insists it doesn’t bother him. But I still feel guilty, and I know the smell is on me even if it was just one cigarette because I’ve smelled it myself after coming back into the house. (Even when both of us were smoking we never, ever smoked in our home.) So, after trying a couple friends’ electronic cigarettes in the past few weeks, I’ve taken the leap and bought myself a starter kit from Cloud 9 Smoker’s Paradise. After reading about ecigarettes at ecigarettes365.com, I chose Cloud 9 e-cigs because they had good battery life ratings, good flavor ratings for cartridges and eliquids, was reasonably priced, and it has a really cute compact case that will fit very nicely in my purse on those rare occasions when I do come down off the mountain. Oh, and so you’re in the know, the word “smoking” is out and the new term is “vape” or “vaping”- for vaporizing. The heating element in the e-cig device vaporizes the nicotine solution in the cartridge, and creates a vapor that is inhaled & exhaled making it look like a traditional cigarette. This system delivers nicotine without the other 4000 or so chemicals that are found in traditional cigarettes, and in my opinion are more responsible for health damage than the nicotine is. Yes, I know nicotine can be poisonous, but under the usage conditions with these devices that would impossible. (Unless of course you are stupid enough to drink a bottle of eliquid, that would cause a problem!) The cartridges and refill nicotine liquids come in different strengths just like cigarettes, and there are zero nicotine cartridges/liquids if you don’t want nicotine. I don’t intend to use these to quit smoking, and they are not recommended for that, but I think for my situation they are going to be great. No more stinky cigarette smell, and more importantly no more stressing out my honey with cravings from having to be around them. My kit is due to arrive by Monday, July 12, I’ll post more after I’ve had it a few days so you can follow along. Who knows, if you smoke it might just be what you (and your family) are looking for, too. Save 5% by using this link to Cloud 9 Smokers Paradise. Stop smoking and start vaping!
I guess this is where I need to write something about myself…
I was born in Woodland Hills, CA. That’s right, I am a Valley girl. Now I live in southwest Colorado on forty forested acres at the top of a mountain. There are a lot of “used to be’s” here, people who used to have important jobs at important places making lots of money and dealing with incredible amounts of stress. I fit into that category, and have to say was quite amused to learn that about this new place I now call home.
Life is very different now than it was when I lived in California and worked in the film industry. My days belong to me, and most of them are spent at home doing what I choose. There is plenty to do here at any time of year, and my activities change according to the season. A few of the things I enjoy are cooking, gardening, hiking, home improvement, reading, sewing, web development, and playing games on the Wii. I still dabble in the realm of sound by way of my honey’s band for which I am the sound engineer.
Although I worked very hard for twenty years to get here, I still realize how fortunate I am not to have to work a 9 to 5 job. I am grateful for that every single day.
