Spring flowers

Flowering bushShort post today as I have another busy week ahead. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous with temperatures in the mid-seventies, which is perfect at our altitude because it feels ten degrees warmer than it actually is. We’ve been spending a lot of time outside getting this year’s projects underway. Everything is so green right now, and the wild flowers have started their annual display which makes it difficult to focus on the work at hand. The barn patio project is almost done, we just need to move a little more dirt before I can start laying the stones. Frequent work breaks are necessary during this beautiful weather, and here are a few photos I took while out on a walk the other day. I hope you enjoy them.

Spring with weather is pretty incredible, huh? This is my first, out of LA, and despite battling the health issue I can still see it and I am not missing it.

Our house is so much like a treehouse- despite a little road right outside the front door that takes us to the city in 5 minutes – that it is almost like being in a fifties sci-fi movie where the trees are COMING TO EAT YOU!!!!!!!

(Ask Pete about “Day of the Triffids”).

I will try to get you some pictures someday. Sigh.

But, your spring is looking gorgeous! Enjoy yourself – to hell with Jade and WildBlue, ya only live once, and when I can remember which drunk Irish writer wrote the amazing quote about flowers in spring, I will send it, lol.

Kel! So nice to get a comment from you! Yeah, spring is incredible here. I got some more pics I need to post, next time I come into town to get online. We’ve been having what amounts to an early monsoon season, with daily thunder showers around 3 or 4 pm. Usually that does not start until late July. I love to go outside after a rain shower because the smell is absolutely incredible! With all the pine trees and grass it’s just heavenly.
